ÁùºÏͼ¿â 75th Anniversary Events Begin in January

The University of Louisiana at Monroe begins its 75th Anniversary celebrations in January with several notable events.

The ÁùºÏͼ¿â Art Alumni Invitational and 75th Anniversary Show will start on Tues., Jan. 17 and run through Thurs., Feb. 9. The alumni art show will be on display at Bry Art Gallery. The exhibit’s reception will be on Fri., Feb. 3 and begin at 6 p.m.

The official 75th Anniversary Kick-off Celebration will occur on Tues., Jan. 24 with a separate lunch and evening social. The lunch social occurs from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. A 75th Anniversary time capsule will be dedicated for the new Student Union Building. Students will have the opportunity to inscribe messages to the future on a large group scroll. There will also be a slide presentation on hand depicting important events in ÁùºÏͼ¿â’s history. Lunch will be provided free for students and faculty/staff with valid ID.

The more formal evening social is invitation only. It will occur from 6-8 p.m. in Brown Gym. There will be live entertainment. Champagne and hors d'euvres will be served, as gathered guests acclaim ÁùºÏͼ¿â’s past, present and future successes.
