Grammy winner plays Spring Fever concert April 26; tickets now on sale

As part of Spring Fever Beach Week 2007, Grammy winner Chamillionaire, along with Ingram Hill and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus will perform in concert at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26 in the Fant-Ewing Coliseum at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Tickets (purchased online) go on sale today, March 30.

Chamillionaire, a hip-hop artist, won a Grammy in the “Best Rap Performance By Duo Or Group” category for “’Ridin,” the smash single from his platinum-plus debut effort “The Sound Of Revenge,” according to his Web site.

Ingram Hill, a four-piece, Memphis-based band, is “pop-rock with a southern twist,” according to the band’s Web site. They have been featured on the WB television show, “Summerland.”

The concert, sponsored by Campus Activities Board, is open to the general public. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets may be purchased today by visiting . Spring Fever Beach Week 2007 Schedule

Between Monday, April 23 – Friday, April 27 CAB will sponsor a Spring Fever T-shirt Sale. Individual shirts will cost $5 and may be purchased daily from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Bayou Park (Monday, Wednesday) and the SUB Ballroom (Tuesday). The last day to buy the T-shirts will be Friday from 10 a.m. – noon behind Heard Stadium (coinciding with the Oozeball Tournament).

Monday, April 23:

Inflatable Games:
10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Bayou Park. This CAB-sponsored event will sponsor a variety of inflatable attractions: Giant Slide, Rock Wall, Dixie Whirly Bird, Four-Person Tumbler, and more.

Lunch Social with Music:
11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Bayou Park. CAB will provide a free lunch to all ͼ students as they listen to Sweet Root. More information about the band may be found at: .

Canoe Races:
11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Bayou Park. Recreational Services and Aquatic Services are sponsoring this opportunity to show one’s rowing mettle. Two winners will receive a GameBoy.

Tuesday, April 24:

Lunch:
11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the SUB Ballroom, sponsored by CAB.

Novelty Games with DJ:
10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the SUB Ballroom. CAB will sponsor Novelties, including Candy Sand Art, Video Dance Heads, Airbrush Tattoos, Digital Fantasy Photos, and Caricature Artist while students are musically entertained.

Baseball Tailgate and Crawfish Boil / Alan Brockman Performance:
4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the Baseball Field. CAB and ͼ Baseball will sponsor a crawfish boil for a ͼ-associated audience as they enjoy a performance by Alan Brockman performance.

Wednesday, April 25:

SGA Splash-Off Lunch and Scavenger Hunt:
11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Bayou Park. The Student Government Association is sponsoring this event.

Popsicle Pass Out:
5 p.m. at the Bayou on ͼ campus by the ͼ Alumni Center. Student Life and Leadership are teaming with the Non-Traditional Student Organization to provide this cool treat for ͼ-associated attendees.

ͼ Water Ski Show:
Open to the public.
5 at the Bayou on ͼ campus by the ͼ Alumni Center. Everyone is invited to see an impressive ski show by members of the ͼ Water Ski Team, which boasts some of the best skiers in the world.

Up ‘Til Dawn Carnival / Finale:
Open to the public.
5:30 – 8:30 p.m. in the Grove on ͼ campus. Everyone is invited to the Up ‘Til Dawn Carnival, with its booths, inflatables, food, and bands. Along with the carnival, there will also be a classic car show.

Drive-in Movie:
9 p.m. in the Grove. CAB will sponsor a special screening of “We Are Marshall” as well as provide free popcorn and drinks for the ͼ-associated audience.

Thursday, April 26:

VAPA Piece for Paint:
Open to the public.
Noon at Scott Plaza. There will be a performance piece with music and art students as they give a unique coat of paint to a student-volunteered car.

Flight Simulators Demos:
10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. at the Hemphill Airway and Computer Science Building, rooms 124 and 125. The Aviation Department offers this unique opportunity to those who dream of flying.

Concert:
Open to the public.
6:30 p.m. at Fant-Ewing Coliseum, sponsored by CAB. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Friday, April 27:


Oozeball Tournament:
Noon at the Heard Stadium yard. The ͼ 31 Ambassadors will present Oozeball, an annual mud-volleyball tournament for ͼ students. Teams of 6 can be submitted to the Alumni Center for play.
