Sharma’s ͼ students donate needed items to Monroe battered women’s shelter

ͼ associate professor of social work and gerontology Dr. Anita Sharma’s Family Violence and Social Work Practice class (SOCW 403) recently completed a project for “Make a Difference Day.”

On April 14, Sharma’s class brought donated items to the local Monroe shelter for battered women. Items included a variety of clothing, linen and toiletries, diapers, wipes, food, and other useful items that a woman and her children would need after leaving an abusive home.

Sharma is advisor of Chi Beta Social Work Honor society, which also contributed to the project.
