ÁùºÏͼ¿â students excel at National Association Teachers of Singing Vocal Competition

Several University of Louisiana at Monroe students excelled at the National Association Teachers of Singing Vocal Competition of Northern Louisiana, held March 22 at the Louisiana Tech University campus.

ÁùºÏͼ¿â winners were:

• Calvin Stafford of Alexandria - first place; Freshman Men

• Elizabeth Bennett of Shreveport - second place; Junior Women

• Lance Dumas of West Monroe - first place; Junior Men

• Bianca Jackson of Natchez, Miss. - first place; Graduate Women

• Madonna Gil of New Orleans - second place; Graduate Women

Dr. Mark Ross Clark, head of the ÁùºÏͼ¿â Division of Music, praised the students and ÁùºÏͼ¿â Voice Department faculty members Dr. Claire Vangelisti, Dr. Susan Olson, Louis Nabors and accompanist/rehearsal coach Dr. Sonia Hsu, the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Endowed Chair in Music.
