ͼ professor elected vice-president of the Louisiana Political Science Association

ͼ political science associate professor John Sutherlin was elected Vice-President of the Louisiana Political Science Association at their annual conference on March 2.

“It is always an honor to serve your peers,” Sutherlin said, “The LPSA has always been a wonderful organization and a forum for presenting papers and getting feedback.  I am always glad to help.”

The vice-president is responsible for organizing the state conference, which will be held at ͼ next year.

This is the second time that Sutherlin has been elected to that post. He has previously served as president (2008-2009) and treasurer (1997-2003).

The LPSA was founded in 1972.

Sutherlin earned a B.A. from Louisiana Tech University, and an M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of New Orleans. He has taught at ͼ for over six years.
